Sammie’s Story, Shared by His Owner
Sammie’s pet memorial figurine was created ten years after he passed away, but the memories his family shared with us were still as clear as ever.
“Sadly, Sammie passed away ten years ago. He loved his tennis balls and even won rosettes at charity fairs. He was one of a kind – a white Staffy with lots of black spots, and he was such a happy boy.”
Sammie may have passed away ten years ago, but when his owner spoke to us about him, the memories were still remarkably clear.
His distinctive markings, his love of tennis balls and the happy personality his family knew so well had never been forgotten.
The Happy Staffy Who Loved Tennis Balls
Sammie was a white Staffordshire Bull Terrier with distinctive black spots across his coat. They made him instantly recognisable, but his appearance was only part of what made him special.
He absolutely loved tennis balls.
In one of the photographs his owner shared with us, Sammie is lying happily on the floor surrounded by colourful balls and toys, completely at home amongst his favourite things.
He also won rosettes at charity fairs – small reminders of happy days and experiences shared with his family.
These details may seem ordinary to someone else, but when you have shared your life with an animal, they become part of what made that pet uniquely yours.
Creating Sammie’s Pet Memorial Figurine Ten Years Later
A decade after losing Sammie, his owner came to us with old photographs and asked us to create a pet memorial figurine of him.
Creating a meaningful custom dog figurine is about much more than recreating a breed. We wanted to capture Sammie himself.
His white coat, the position and pattern of his black spots, his proportions, facial features and familiar expression all became important references when creating his personalised pet sculpture from photos.

When Sammie’s owner received the finished memorial figurine, he emailed us to say how much he loved it.
To him, the sculpture looked just like the Sammie he remembered.
That stayed with us.
